Donna Ladyne Perkins, 86, got her angel wings on January 30, 2022. Born June 20, 1935 in Denver, CO, she was the daughter of Leonard August Larson and Zita Ardinece Larson.
Donna graduated from South High School in Denver, CO. She was an executive assistant with Gold Fields Mining Corporation in Denver and Mudloggers, Inc in Grand Junction.
She was a member of the Calvary Chapel and loved her Christian faith. She enjoyed sewing, music, decorating cakes, cooking, being a mom and grandma, playing games, the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and especially, Patrick Mahomes.
She was a perfectionist in her younger years with the cleanest house on the block. She never left the house until she was dressed to the nines with not a hair out of place, beautiful makeup, and black patent leather shoes. As she grew older, she learned to snowmobile, jet ski and go “glamping.” In her last few years, she finally let her hair go gray, and liked being more casual in her favorite tennis shoes. She still wore makeup though. In her last days, she was the sweetest, most loving human being, and it was important to her to tell everyone that she loved them.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Len and Ardie, son, Scott Needens, and husband, Chuck Perkins. She is survived by her dog, Snickers; daughters, Kristy Reuss (Dennis), Shelly Zepp, and Holly Dyer; stepsons, Greg Perkins (Patty), Terry Perkins (Vonnie), Jerry Perkins (Nona), and Charles Perkins; sister, Bonnie Caulfield; brother, Larry Larson (Barbara), grandchildren, Lindsey, Stacey, Leah, Matt, Kati, Cory, Devin, Nathan, and Vincent; and great grandchildren, Alexa, Cody, Kinsley, Makenna, Abner, Eleanor, Nico, Jalen, Cristiano, Natalie, Dylan, Kiera, Harrison, Lliam, Olivia, James, Jacob, and Sarah.
A Celebration of Life for Donna is planned for Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 492 Morning Glory Lane, Grand Junction, CO, 81504. The family encourages everyone to wear her favorite color, pink, on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Hopewest Hospice or the Nursing Education Fund at Larchwood Inns.
