May 30, 1927-November 26, 2024
Dorothy was born and raised by her parents Richard and Erna Radke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, along with her with her brothers Dick and Walter (deceased). She and her future husband, Dewey Morrison (deceased) met in high school. Through letters they exchanged during Dewey's service in the Navy during WW2, they fell in love and were married on November 15, 1947. They lived in Wisconsin, Napa California and landed in Grand Junction, CO in the early 1950's. They shared 38 years of marriage before his death in 1986 and had four children, Lynn (Bob) Whipple, Cynthia (Marc) Cooper, Michael (Tere) Morrison and David (Missy) Morrison. She has seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren and nieces and nephews living in Wisconsin and Colorado.
Dorothy worked as a teacher's aide at School District 51; did secretarial work at Mesa Memorial Hospital and worked in the office at Coloramo Federal Credit Union. She was a member of American Lutheran Church, Newcomers Club, Over the Hill Gang, Hilltop House Auxiliary and volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital.
In the late 1980's through the 1990's she and her friends began traveling; there was always a new adventure awaiting them. To name a few; they took tours to South Dakota, an East Coast Tour, (2700 miles in 12 days) Hong Kong, the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, England, Germany, Italy, Yellowstone National Park, Washington D.C., Panama, and China.
She built a life filled with love and countless shared memories. If you knew Dorothy at all, you knew she was a Denver Bronco fan. She was blessed with many close friends. She was a caring, loving and giving person who was a model of unconditional love and kindness. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy lives on through the close knit family she leaves behind.
