Douglas Freeman

Douglas "Doug" Freeman of Grand Junction passed away January 23, 2021

He was born in Grand Junction, CO on August 10, 1946 to Charles "Ebby" and Earlene Freeman.   Upon graduating from Grand Junction High School, Doug and his brother Mike attempted to join the Peace Corps but found the Peace Corps was not accepting anyone at that time.  They then discovered the Marine Corps and soon found themselves in Vietnam.  After Doug was honorably discharged, he returned to Grand Junction.  He graduated from Mesa State College in 1986 as a machinist.   Doug taught for many years at UTEC.  When he wasn't teaching, he enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping.

Doug was well known as a loving husband, a terrific Dad, a wonderful Grandpa and a kind and generous person.  Doug also loved his dogs and cats and animals of all kind.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Mike and JP Freeman.  He is survived by sister Linda Creamer, brothers Larry and Robert Freeman, his Wife CJ, step-children John (Peggy), Jami; Grandchildren Felicia (Oscar) and Rachel (Ross), great grandchildren; Brooklyn, Adriana, Michael, Olivia and Alannah
