Edward R Dow, age 88 passed away on March 7, 2020, following a long yet brave battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Ed was born on April 2, 1931 to the late Orvin Dow and Hazel (Pembrook) Dow in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Ed graduated from Cedaredge High School in Cedaredge Colorado.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.
When Ed was young his parents and sister left Oklahoma due to the dust bowl, they moved to California and then around many states before settling in Colorado.
Ed worked many jobs to provide for his family, Salt Lake Warehouse, Clymer’s Dairy, Grand Junction Pipe and a security guard at the Department of Energy Compound, to name a few.
Ed loved his church family, he attended Bethel Assembly of God, First Assembly of God, Clifton Assembly and the Nazarene Church. He was a Sunday school teacher and Royal Rangers Instructor.
Ed loved to joke around and tell stories. He joked around so much that after telling a story his grandson Connor would comment "for reals?" He wasn't grandpa, he was Gpa. If you knew Ed, you knew how his eyes would light up when you would enter the room. When asked how he was doing he would respond "I'm fine" even up to the last days, a thumbs up and "I'm fine".
Besides his family and friends, Ed enjoyed fishing and camping with his family, his garden, yard work and making bird houses. Spring was his favorite time of year.
He is survived by his beloved wife Jan Dow, Son Dan (Trisha) Dow, Daughter Connie (Jerry) Fagg, Son Darin (Stephanie) Dow.
His 9 grandchildren were the joy of his life. Connor Dunn, Savannah Fagg, Tori (Joey) Roe, Nathan Dow, Nikki Dow, Jayden Dow, Kylie Dow, Jacob Dow and Isabel Dow, He had one great-grandson, Gabe Roe.
His sister Leatha Monger, many sisters and brothers-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
