Edward Velasquez

"Jose" was born in Southern Colorado.  He was third youngest with 15 brothers and sisters.  Jose went to school until the 8th grade, at which time, he left school to work on the family farm.  At the age of 19, Jose joined the US Army and served for four years.  After his discharge from the Army, Jose worked for the Railroad and also did Construction.  Jose lived off and on in Grand Junction, finally retiring here.  The last 8 years of his life, Jose has resided at Mantey Heights where the staff and other residents became his "family".
