Elsie Pearl Bell, 67, of Grand Junction, CO, passed away September 6, 2014. She was born to George and Hannah Prickett on October 27, 1946, in Kingman, AZ. She attended school in Cortez, CO, where she graduated from Montezuma Cortez High School in 1964. After graduation she attended airline school in Kansas City, MO. She later moved to Grand Junction where she was employed as a Deputy Clerk for County Court. She met and married George Roylyn Bell on June 5, 1970. They had two children together, Karen and Scott. Elsie was a homemaker for many years before returning to the workforce. She was employed by Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse, then Intermountain Christian Bookstore, and finally Yanowich School Pictures before retiring. Elsie had many hobbies and activities. Over the years she enjoyed making countless cakes for weddings and other special occasions. She was a gifted seamstress as many family and friends are still enjoying her homemade crafts. She loved being a grandma and spending time with her two grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God. Through the years she was involved in many ministries including Missionettes, Sunday School, Women’s Ministries, and the Annual Back-to-School Giveaway. She leaves behind many family and friends including husband, George; children, Karen, and Scott (Shawna); and grandchildren, Josiah and Shalena, all of Grand Junction. She also leaves behind her mother, Hannah Whyman, of Cortez, CO; and three sisters, Elena Prickett (Rod Holton), of Cortez, CO; Edith Anderson of Ogden, UT; and Evelyn Phelps (Fred) of Cortez, CO; as well as many other family members. She was preceded in death by her father, George Prickett and stepfather, Bill Whyman. Elsie was an excellent example of a Godly woman, touching many lives and leaving a legacy for us to follow.
