Ernest Griffiths Jr

Born in Buffalo, New York to Ernest Griffiths Sr. and Charlotte (Mott) Griffiths. Griff passed away at HopeWest Hospice Care Center with family by his side.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Ona, sons Kelly, Ernest III, Erik, Benjamin, daughter Tamara, grandchildren Kyle, Autumn, Aspen, Tara and 4 great granddaughters and various nieces and nephews. Griff was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Sr and Charlotte, and his sister Joan.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the Alaska Department of Corrections. Griff was a longtime member of the Fruita Lions Club and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute. He was also active on the Fruita Police Commission. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, horseback riding, ATV’ing, and playing golf.

Many people benefited from his kind heart and good deeds over the years and the fond memories will remain in our hearts.

Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado 2830 Riverside Pkwy.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Griff’s name to HopeWest Hospice Care Center 3090 North 12th St – Grand Junction would be appreciated.
