Eugene Britton

September 17, 1944 — December 18, 2021

Eugene (Gene) M Britton, age 77, died December 17, 2021, at home after a hard 2-year battle with cancer.

Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, Gene was the son of Fred Britton and Evelyn (Dean) Pritzkau. He graduated from Rapid City Central High school in Rapid City, South Dakota. He joined and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a carpenter for most of his life, finishing out his career as a successfully self-employed owner of Gene's Carpentry & Home Repair. Gene was a very quiet and hardworking man who valued quality work, integrity, and reliability. Gene was active in the Colorado PT Cruiser's Club and Wheel West Car Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Britton and Evelyn Pritzkau. He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Britton, children Mark Britton (Jeana), Sharrie Britton,

Nicole Schofield, Michaelle Williams (Craig). His sister Pat Libby. Six grandchildren Ryan Britton, Tyler Britton, Ashley (Braydan) Andel, Cianna Schofield, Christian Schofield, Aubrey Britton, Nathan Williams and one great grandchild Aaliyah Purden.

Services have been entrusted to Browns Cremation and Funeral Services.

The Memorial Service will be held January 18, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel.

A reception lunch will follow the service at the Moose Lodge from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In the spring his ashes will be placed at the location of Gene's request in Rapid City, South Dakota.
