With sincere sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Fern Kay Buford Walker, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, writer, and proud military wife. She peacefully passed away on April 20, 2024, leaving behind a memory of love and strength.
Fern’s adventurous spirit led her on a journey intertwined with the honor of being a military wife. As the devoted spouse of Colonel Jerry Lee Walker, she courageously navigated the challenges and sacrifices of military life, providing steadfast support to her family through countless deployments and relocations around the world.
Fern dedicated her life to nurturing her family and fostering a home filled with warmth and love. Her boundless love and unwavering guidance shaped the lives of her entire family.
In addition to her devotion to family, Fern’s passion for life was truly contagious. She found joy tending to her garden and traveling the world. Her adventurous spirit took her on travels far and wide, creating cherished memories that will be treasured by all who shared in her adventures.
In her latter years, she devoted her time to her family genealogy, which resulted in a published genealogy resource used by historical societies around the world.
Born July 20, 1936, in Grand Junction, Fern is survived by her daughter, Kelly Lynn Walker Waldron and her Grandchildren, Christian Stephen and Ethan Leston Waldron.
