Fred was born on March 31, 1940, to Edgar and LaRue Snyder in Rifle, CO. He grew up with his siblings, Pat, Don, Calvin, and Jerry in Rifle and New Castle and graduated from New Castle High School in 1959. He joined the Marine Corps on April 30, 1962, and served for 3 years. Fred met Charlotte on a blind date in 1960, they married in 1964, and spent the next 60 years together.
Fred loved the Colorado mountains, cars, and his family. He also loved to read. He read hundreds of paperback books - he also went through 3 kindles, building up a digital library of 417 books - mostly Westerns.
Everyone who knew him knew that he was happiest when he was working. Whether he was building a house, cabin, or car - he was happiest when he had a project or was helping someone else with their project. He loved his family and taught them - from changing a tire, to building a house, he was full of information and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was a huge tease. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with a joke and laughter. He will be remembered for his love, wisdom, generosity, kindness and integrity.
Fred is survived by his wife, Charlotte, daughter Lisa (Alan), son Chad (Lisa Marie), and grandchildren Jordan (Kayla), Saige (Brody), Jared, Destiny, Christopher, and Siera; great grandchildren Wyatt, Ava, Oliver, and Finley, and his brothers, Don (Sandra), Jerry, and Calvin (Brenda).
He will be forever loved and missed.
