Gary Hayden

March 18, 1961 — October 29, 2021

Gary Wayne Hayden passed away October 29, 2021.

He was 60 years old and lived in Grand Junction, CO.  Born March 18, 1961, in Ukiah, CA to Jerry W. Hayden, Sr. and Rita (Hayden) Greenfield.

He was a great example of living life to the fullest, and serving his grand creator Jehovah God, and was faithful to the end. Gary dedicated his life to Jehovah on March 25, 1989, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He had the privilege of working side-by-side with brothers in the U.S. and some foreign countries, with his wife, Josie for 25 years in the volunteer construction of Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses and Assembly Halls, and many Baja Mexico adventures serving the brother’s needs there.  He was passionate and determined to help anyone have a good day, assisting them with anything they needed, and he was a teacher and helped ‘you’ fix it, especially his brothers and sisters.

He was a construction contractor and specialized in custom and decorative concrete. He had many friends; everyone knew he was a ‘what you saw was what you got’ kind of guy.

Gary married Josephine (Sawyer) Hayden on March 20, 1982, and they spent 39 years together.

He is survived by his wife Josephine (Sawyer) Hayden, mother- Rita (Hayden) Greenfield, brother- Jerry W. Hayden, Jr., two sisters- Tammy Allen and Donna Green, mother-in-law- Angie Sawyer, brother-in-law- Ben Sawyer, and sister-in-law- Suzanne Sawyer, all from the Grand Junction area. Also surviving are an uncle, Skip Hayden and an aunt, Penny Hayden who were more like brother and sister to him, and several cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father- Jerry W. Hayden, Sr., and father-in-law- Benito ‘Ben’ Sawyer, and all grandparents.
