Gary Kulhanek

Gary Lee Kulhanek passed away on Saturday July 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 14, 1940 in Ansley Nebraska to Lloyd A. and Lucial E. Tiff Kulhanek. They had 3 children Gary, Deanna and Jay.

He married his high school sweetheart Patricia Hardrick. They had 3 children Michael Lee, Twila LaDawn and Shellee Lynn. They later divorced.

Gary was a truck driver for most of his career. He was a loyal member of the Moose for 53 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his quad. He also enjoyed spending time with family, other Moose members, and many friends he would have breakfast or lunch with on a regular basis. He loved his dog Charley. She was a good companion to him.

Gary is survived by his daughter Shellee (Kevin)Gibbs,  grandson’s Casey (Rachel) Thurman, Brandon Beachboard, and great grandson Brian Wichmann all of Reno, and Brother Jay Kulhanek of De Beque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Kulhanek, daughter LaDawn Tutrow, sister Deanna, and brother in law Bill Herrick.

There will be an informal memorial on Saturday August 6th at 1pm at the Moose Lodge #270 at 567 25 1/2 Road in Grand Junction.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Mesa County animal shelter in Charley or Gary’s name. This is where his beloved girl will be temporarily until she finds her forever home.
