Gene Roy Kipp, age 79 died on May 11, 2024, at his home in Grand Junction.
Born January 17, 1945, in Edison, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Donald and Ruth Kipp.
Roy graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1964.
He was a Veteran of the US Army serving from 1965 to 1967.
Roy worked as an Auto Body Technician in several different shops in the Grand Junction area for many years.
Roy was a member of several car clubs in Grand Junction. He loved getting together with his car club buddies to enjoy a donut and coffee and chat about cars.
Roy enjoyed the outdoors such as camping, hunting, and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, woodworking, rebuilding old cars, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roy also enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets.
Roy was a kind, funny, loving father, and grandfather. Roy also had a great sense of humor. Roy was the kind of guy that would also be there to help someone else whether it be to fix a car or help with something around the house.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruth, and his oldest brother, Marvin.
Roy was married in October 1967 to Jodi Forbes and together they had three children, son, Michael (Sherry), daughter, Kristi (Steve), and son, Joey (Betsy). He is survived by six grandchildren, Sean (Kayla) and Aaron, Tyler and Kaitlin, Hunter and Owen. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Amara and Remington. He is also survived by his identical twin brother, Ray (Barb) and younger brother, Benny (Rikki). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews
Honors Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM MDT.
