George S Randall

July 5, 1951 — January 2, 2025

George Sanford Randall, 73, of Craig, Colorado passed away peacefully on Jan 2, 2025.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 5, 1951 to Stephen and Jane Swift Randall. George graduated from Needham High School, and worked as a carpet layer in his father’s oriental rug business until he decided to move to Colorado to create his own life.

George was a hard working, direct, and independent man, with a deeply kind heart hidden under the exterior. George mastered numerous trades through persistence during the course of his life, including woodworking when he built his own guitar and furniture, plumbing when he built his own sediment filtration and water heating systems, farming when he grew his own vegetables, ranching when he raised his own pigs and chickens, and structural engineering when he designed and built his own barn. He did all of this without any specific job training or experience, just his own industrious mind. He will be forever remembered by the people whose lives he has touched.

George is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Stephenson, his father, Stephen Randall, his mother, Jane Swift Randall, and his grandmother, Anna Greenleaf Swift. He is survived by his sisters Amy Hoffman and Jay (Tom) Jackson. He is also survived by many dear friends that were like family to him.

A private Memory Sharing will be held at a future date. If you would like to make a donation in George Randall’s memory, please consider donating to The Humane Society of Moffat County or The Food Bank Of The Rockies.
