We have lost a wonderful person and longtime friend. Greg knew few strangers and has touched the hearts and minds of countless souls.
Greg passed away after a short illness peacefully at Hope West surrounded by his wife Charlyne and two daughters.
Greg was born in Aurora, Illinois to Marion and Leo Minor. Greg was married to the love of his life Charlyne for 59 years. They have two daughters Karen and Kristine, along with three grandchildren Brittany, Andrew and Caroline.
Greg took the opportunity to relocate his family to beautiful Colorado in 1982 and continued a successful Redi-Mix Concrete career. Several family members and friends chose to follow to Colorado soon after.
Greg was an honest, hardworking businessman who was devoted to his family. Among his many hobbies Greg loved to travel and earned his pilot license in the early 90’s. Greg brought humor and smiles to all and was known for his adventurous spirit. Some of his ventures included deep sea fishing, pushing cows at cow camp above Carbondale, being part owner of American Standardbred Horses, golfing, stock car racing, watching wildlife and playing cards.
Of the many vacations taken over his lifetime Greg enjoyed yearly trips to Florida with his family. Another jaunt involved puddle jumping across the country to different points of interest with friends in three private planes on their way to Alaska to fish and explore. Greg had a strong love for all types of animals his entire life. He loved chocolate malts and good food.
Greg will always be remembered by his family and friends as the warm generous man who consistently supported them in all their endeavors.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held after the holidays.
Donations can be made in Greg’s name to Hope West at hopewestco.org or by calling (970) 241-2212. We are very grateful for their caring love and support.
