Harold "Hal" Leonardo Kaufman Sr., 85, entered into eternal peace with family members at his side on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Grand Junction, CO. Harold was born on September 24, 1935, a son of the late Harold and Hazel Kaufman and brother to Marlene Fischer. He was born in Chicago, IL and the family relocated to West Los Angeles, CA. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956, Active duty on the U.S.S. Taylor and U.S.S. Carpenter.. He also served four years reserve duty until he was Honorably Discharged with the Medal of Defense as a Petty Officer 3rd Class in 1960. He worked in the Aerospace Industry for 38 years as a Draftsman Engineer and retired in 1992. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, watching team sports, but most importantly, he took great pleasure in spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Valerie Kaufman and their four children: Harold Jr (Renna), Stacey (Eric), Scott (Julie) and Lisa (Mark); his ten (*) Grandchildren: Erik-Jonathan (Tara), Zanna (Matthew), Landyn, Christopher, Lyndzey (Johnny Sr.), Michael, Melissa (Kelon) and Anthony (Samantha); and his eight Great Grandchildren: Trenton, Devin, Chevelle, Kenzie, Karenna, Johnny Jr.,Emma and Greyson and his extended family. (*) He was preceded in death by two of his Grandchildren: Jarrett and Matthew.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Brown's Cremation & Funeral Service Chapel, Grand Junction, CO/904 N 7th street, followed by Military Honors Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 located at 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO
