Hayden Tucker

June 27, 1998 — May 14, 2021

Hayden Matthew Tucker

Hayden Matthew Tucker came screaming into the world at 13:13 on Saturday, June 27, 1998. He joined his parents Kevin and Crystal Tucker and big brother Riley in Grand Junction, Colorado. Little sister Kate later completed the family. Hayden lost his life on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in a tragic work-related accident near Pryor, Oklahoma.

Hayden grew up in Grand Junction and Fruita. He played football for Mesa County Junior Football and Fruita High School. Hayden’s favorite place to be was outside - driving his truck, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, camping, and snowmobiling. As long as he was outside, he was happy. He had an early and deep love for all animals and wildlife. He was a born hunter, killing his first Elk at the age of 12. He joined the RMEF as a volunteer and committee member as soon as he was 18, following in his dad’s footsteps to continue their mission of preservation and conservation.

Hayden had a beautiful smile and a larger-than-life personality; he was a jokester whose sarcasm and quick wit were his hallmark. All of that sometimes hid his tender heart. Hayden loved deeply, he made friends for life, and there was nothing he would not do for those he loved.

Hayden is survived by his beloved dog Toby, his parents Kevin and Crystal of Fruita, brother Riley of Fruita, sister Kate of Grand Junction, Grandparents Tommy and Teresa Tucker of Bayfield, Johnny and Billie Foust of Fruita and Jodie and Deb Grein of Grand Junction. Great grandmother Alice Armstrong of The Villages, Florida. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than we can count.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Steven Paulsen, great grandfather Dale Paulsen, great grandparents Jack and June Hughes, Carl and Kathryn Tucker, and Chuck and Wilma Proctor.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Fellowship Church in Grand Junction. Burial to follow at the New Elmwood Cemetery. A celebration of Hayden’s life will follow at the Tucker home 1966 K Road in Fruita.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Hayden’s name to the RMEF - Grand Junction chapter.
