Helen Arlene (Lehman) Burford completed her journey to her heavenly home on August 27th, surrounded by loved ones at her granddaughter's home in Minnesota.
Helen was 98 years old, born on June 26, 1926 to Pete and Truee Lehman. She spent her early years in Wilsonville, Nebraska, before moving with her family to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she graduated from Palisade High School.
On March 7, 1948, Helen married the love of her life, Darwin Leland Burford. They shared 58 wonderful years together in Grand Junction. Throughout her 98 years, Helen touched many lives with her kindness and warmth.
Helen is survived by her three children: Linda Cox, Kitty (Phil) Herrera, and Gary (Lana) Burford; three sisters: Sharon King, Judy Brown, and Gloria Parker; five grandchildren: Neisha (Cox) Johnson, Tina (Cox) Smith, Bridgett (Herrera) Rentie, Rian Burford, and Jessica Burford; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and a granddaughter, Shawndee Herrera.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Allina Hospice Care staff of Minnesota for their professional care and compassionate support.
Services will be held at Brown's Funeral Home in Grand Junction on September 14 at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens.
