Howdy was born in New Brighton, PA, son of Howard Lamont Martsolf, Sr. and Helen Jean Schaney Martsolf. He graduated from Beaver Falls, PA High School and attended SMU. He married Judy Lummas May 16, 1958. Howdy served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and the Illinois National Guard.
He had varied occupations through the years but worked primarily in the engineering industry. He was a partner in Thunder Mountain Detailing.
He was a member of St Matthews Episcopal Church.
Howdy had many interests. He had a herd of dairy goats for a few years, beekeeping, gold prospecting, square dancing, wood turning, selling shaved ice, Grampa Howdy's Kettle Corn to name a few... He was a hardworking individual who always seemed to have a side hustle in addition to his regular job.
Howdy was proceeded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of 65 years, sons Tom [Judi], Billy [Misty], and Andy [Karen], his three brothers, John, Bill, and Mike, eleven grandchildren and step grandchildren and three great grandsons.
His memorial service will be held Thursday, February 2, 11:00 am at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 3888 27 1/2 Road, Grand Junction.
