Hubert Betzen

Hubert M. Betzen passed away December 28, 2018 at the age of 77. He was a general contractor, extremely accomplished motocross racer, and a public servant. Throughout his life, he volunteered for numerous nonprofit organizations including the Knights of Columbus through St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Habitat for Humanity, and Mesa County RSVP, a group that helps the elderly with a variety of projects. He would also help others in his own neighborhood. Assisting others was a passion of his, along with racing his motorcycles. Hubert loved his wife, Ellen and cared deeply for his children and grandchildren. He was a gentle soul and was a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Hubert is preceded in death by his brother, David Betzen, and his wife, Ellen Betzen. He is survived by his brothers, Donny and Matt, sisters, Phyllis, Anita, Jovita, Brenda, Carmel, Olivia, Mary and Barbara, his children, George and Angela Betzen, and his grandchildren, Samantha Betzen and Veren Bistline.
