A TRIBUTE TO IRENE LORETTA DOINOFF
She started this life on the 27th of November 1946, born in Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by her sister Patti and brother Bill. Her early years were spent in Venice-Mar Vista, a beautiful coastal city near Santa Monica, CA.
Both of her parents, Bill and Mary, were WW II veterans. Bill was a proud Army Ranger, 101 Airborne. He served on Omaha Beach/D-Day and Mary, a nurse, WAC-Women's Army Corps.
In 1955, the family moved to a little known area, at that time called Torrance. All of the kids went to St. Anthony's School in Gardena, CA. Irene, being outgoing, was full of laughter and quick to make friends while still remaining a smart and very good student. She then went to Bishop Montgomery and graduated from Long Beach State University. During her college years, she moved to El Porto-Manhattan Beach, CA, a place she absolutely loved. She always worked and had a variety of jobs like we all did. She loved talking about history, other countries, and cultures. She was a fantastic conversationalist, loved living life, music and enjoyed cooking.
She has a son, Patrick, who is very much like her. Patrick and Annie gave her a grandson named Noah Phoenix, another loving being of light. Patrick has followed in Irene's footsteps. He is a great cook and hard worker.
As mentioned before, Irene had a knack for making people laugh and making friends. In her younger years, in the late 1960's, she lived in the El Porto neighborhood of Manhattan Beach, CA. She loved walking on the strand at sunset after a long, hard day. She occasionally enjoyed a glass of wine while catching up with her neighbors. She loved watching the lights from Malibu to Palos Verdes. This is the place where she wanted her family to scatter her ashes, other locations are private.
Bill, Patrick, and Amie were there when life support was stopped. It was a very sad time for all. Bill told her several times to go for the light, to go in peace.
Irene, we love you and you will be missed.
Irene, may you have a safe journey heading for the light.
