Jack Roadifer

August 23, 1928 — October 14, 2018

Jack Roadifer - Dad, father, husband, friend, grandfather, veteran, professor, fisherman, and geologist died on October 14, 2018.

Jack received his early education in a one-room schoolhouse in Bull Flats, South Dakota. He finished his education earning a Ph.D. in sedimentary petrology from the University of Arizona.

Jack and his wife Nancy were married for 60 years.  They could never decide which was the greatest gift in their lives; their marriage or their 5 kids: John (Kim, deceased), James (Tina), Mary (Steve), Matt (Christine), and Michael (Michelle), as well as their 10 grandchildren.

Jack and Nancy enjoyed traveling, hiking and camping.  Jack taught for over 30 years at Mesa College. He and his colleagues started a Geology Field Camp, otherwise known as “Survival”.  Jack earned the nickname “No Slack Jack”, which he found to be a compliment.

Jack died a satisfied man, feeling happy with his family and life.  Donations may be made to Hope West or a charity of one’s choice. A private family service will be held at a later date.
