Jack James Stewart

Jack was born on December 15, 1965 in Denver, Colorado to Gordon and Ruby Stewart. He and his sister, Julie (Stewart) Wentzel, attended schools in Palisade, Colorado through high school. He then decided to explore his options and the country by joining the military. He retired with 20 years of service in the US Navy. At which time, he was able to travel and see many places. In 1988, he met and married Debra (Oakley) Like who has two wonderful daughters, Lori and Lindsey, and to this family they added an amazing son, Austin.
Upon retirement he moved back to Colorado and worked in the oil and gas industry until making his home at West Star Aviation.
He enjoyed camping, hiking, running, music, and reading when he sat down. His absolute love were his three children (Lori, Lindsey, and Austin) and grandchildren (Chance, Harmony, Harrison, Haley, Hartlyn, and Carah).
He also loved learning about his Scottish heritage. He visited many Scottish Festivals. He was a part of The Stewart Society (Scotland) and Clan Steward Society in America.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and coworkers. He also enjoyed meeting new people.
Jack had a big heart and he will be missed but never forgotten.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 1 pm at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501. A Celebration of Life will follow at Gordon and Ruby Stewart's home from 2 to 5 pm at 453 Florence Rd., Grand Junction, CO 81504.
