Jack Loren Toney, 81, died August 9, 2022, in his home, surrounded by family, of congestive heart failure. Jack was born December 1, 1940, in Frankfort, Indiana to Phillip Howard Toney and Rosa Meda Fickle. He graduated from Frankfort High School.
Jack worked in the oil and gas industry and retired from Unocal Corporation, where he served as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, working both in the Parachute oil shale and the Los Angeles Refinery. Early working years were spent with the Monan and Nickle Plate Railroad, then in new construction in refineries throughout many western states.
Jack was an avid fisherman, golfer, and a huge sports fan. His teams were IU basketball, and Chicago Bears. He also loved dancing, rafting, The Pig Out and his family and friends.
Jack is survived by spouse Pauline (PJ) Toney, son Mark Toney (Anne), daughter Jennifer Bryan (Patrick), and daughter Angelique Lowery. Blended family included Janet Howell (Ted) Carol Troglia (Peter), and Ron Jones (Tanya). Also survived by sister Gloria Bailey, brother Robert Toney, and many much beloved and cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Jack and Pauline’s retirement years have included building a log home, RVing around the country and many other adventures with family and friends.
