JAMES CURTIS Jim was born April 8, 1948, in Denver, Colorado, and passed from this life on October 31, 2019, at the age of 71 in Grand Junction, Colorado, following a three-year struggle with complications from COPD. Jim is survived by his sister Wanda Derby of Grand Junction and his sister Kathy (Daniel) Crane, formerly of Montrose, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Burlin and Evelene Pitts. Jim served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1970, serving in Vietnam. During his time in the service, he received the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. He was a country and western singer and musician, truck driver, truck stop manager, construction worker, and plumber in various cities in Montana and Colorado.
