James Michael Didier was born in Chicago, Illinois January 23, 1950 and died in Grand Junction, Colorado 75 years and 4 days later. His early years in the suburbs of Chicago were like most kids spent playing with his brothers and sisters and neighborhood friends. Though not a particularly enthusiastic student, he did attend the prestigious Chicago Art Institute.
He became a Merchant Marine for a while before being stricken with schizophrenia which consumed the rest of his life. Jim showed amazing strength and resilience dealing with that usually unbeatable affliction. He didn't beat it but he didn't let it beat him either.
We, his family, were so proud of his spirit and strength. We thank Jim's many Grand Junction friends for their help and the love they showed him. We loved him very much and we hope he takes that love with him on his next journey.
