James Wallace Keith age 92 passed away 4 June 2024. James was born 23 December 1931 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Joseph Wallace Keith and Madeline Virginia Keith (Calkins). James married Betty Ann Keith (Munfrada) 26 March 1955 in Grand Junction, Colorado, they have been married sixty-nine years, she was his true love. James and Betty had five children, Roxann Raymond (Keith) m. James Raymond, Debra Ann Pierce (Keith) m. Tracy Pierce, Becky Lynn Keith, Robin Louise O’Neal (Keith) m. Pat O’Neal, James Wallace Keith II m. Kelly Keith (Wilson). Dad was the oldest of thirteen siblings, Janice Braslins (Keith), Sharon Flores (Keith), Don Keith, Larry Keith, Joe Keith, Alice Southard (Keith), Judy Giddings (Keith), Jeanie Keith, Barbara Ormsbee (Keith), Chuck Keith, he also had ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dad had many interests one of which was gathering family history, he loved learning and gathering information about his family he also loved computers, he was extremely knowledgeable, he would build new computers from the ground up and understood all about them and how they operated. He loved the outdoors, the mountains, the Uncompahgre especially, that is where he and his father and uncle spent much time there. Dad entered the military as a Navy submarine man, he first entered service 16 February 1951 and was honorably discharged 9 July 1968, his last rank, E-6 Torpedoman's Mate (TM1). Dad received (Twice) National Defense Service medal, (Twice) Good Conduct Medal, and the European Occupational Medal. He was aboard one of the first nuclear submarines. He sailed on the USS Charr, USS Chopper, USS Halibut, USS Grouper and the USS Bushnell in Key West Florida. Dad was a dear heart he was the most kind and loving father, husband, son and brother anyone could be and hope to have. We love you dad.
