Jim Kellogg
January 26, 1941 to October 10, 2024
Jim loved the Colorado outdoors from his youth and was in boy scouts earning the Eagle Scout Award.
He graduated from North High in Denver and then went on to Colorado State University in Forest Range Management.
About 2 years later, he went into the Army Security Agency. Jim spent nearly 2 years in Germany and traveled all over Europe in the early 60's. While he was there, he also worked with the German Boy Scouts.
After the Army, Jim went back to CSU and got his BS. He was a Range Conservationist with the Soil Conversation Service for nearly 30 years working all over North-West Colorado. He was a life member of the Society for Range Management and the NRA.
After retiring in 1994 Jim had several part-time jobs including Mesa Lab and Albertsons Fuel Center, as well as doing volunteer work for Marillac Clinic, St. Mary's Hospital ER, and the Dinosaur Museum in Fruita.
Jim is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Tad Hartsough, grandson and wife Erik and Juri Keefer, and great-grandson Gabriel Jun.
Jim passed peacefully in his home in the afternoon of October 10, 2024, in the company of his daughter and his beloved dog, Ruger.
