James (Jim) Rex Rowbotham, 91, died March 6, 2021, at La Villa Grande in Grand Junction, CO following a stroke.
Jim was born February 22, 1930 in Burlington, CO to Ira and Valerie Rowbotham. He was the youngest of six children.
Jim graduated from high school in Alexandria, LA and college in Goodwell, OK. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War where he served with the Military Police.
Jim was a teacher and coach for a number of years. He also worked for the Job Corps for many years. Prior to retirement, he managed an apartment complex for several years.
He enjoyed all sports. He was an avid Broncos, Rockies and Nuggets fan. He enjoyed watching his grandkids and great grandkids play. Jim loved to hunt and fish up until it became too difficult to go. In his later years, he loved watching his great granddaughter, Faith, play softball.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Valerie, siblings George, Gene, Johnny, Irene, and Mary, and his son, Rodney.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary, of 65 years, son, Robert, Grandsons Jason, Dustin, Derek (Jessie), great grand daughters Faith and Hope, and sister-in-laws Pat Voytila and Carol (Gary) Rush, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
