James Steinberg

May 27, 1951 — August 20, 2022

James “Jim” Michael Steinberg age 71 left us suddenly August of 2022 after a brief bout with cancer. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and family. Jim was born May 27 1951 to his beloved father Irving “Bud” and mother Eileen Steinberg.

After a little trouble at his first high school, he graduated from Granada Hills High School in California. He married Penny Slaughter in 1976 and hit the road for Grand Junction CO in 1977. They later divorced but not before having 3 children. He became the primary parent for his kids in 1990. He worked hard for many years as a laborer before deciding to enroll and later graduate from Mesa State College. During that time, he met and married Kathleen Lawson in September of 2000 and unfortunately, they divorced in 2015 but remained close.

After College, Jim worked as a personal Care Giver and owned a Landscape maintenance company. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his little dog Buffy and all of their canine and people friends. Jim was described as being a little rough around the edges but a very caring and loyal man.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Bud and Eileen. Brothers Ray and Richard, sisters Barbara and Beverly. Jim is survived by Brothers Charlie, Dan and Riley. Children J.T. (Audra), Russell (Desiree) and Karli (Dustin). As well as step son’s Marc and Eric. Jim was also survived by grandchildren Deagan, Delaney, Blake, Reece and Maddie and step grandchildren Kyra, Marcus, Julien, Phoebe, Kaya, Skyler and Destiny and great grandchildren Piper and Mila.
