It is with shattered hearts and deepest sorrow that we tell you of the passing of our beloved father James (Jim) Stoltzfus and the worlds best brother Tory Stoltzfus. They passed on August 17th, 2021, next to each other. Tory has been our dad’s primary caregiver for the last four years. As some may know our dad was battling cancer and it put a great deal of stress on him, Tory, and our family.
After many rounds of chemo Jim’s heart simply wasn’t strong enough to continue and simply passed away peacefully. When Tory found him, he laid down next to him and passed a short time later from a broken heart.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Andrea Schnider and Taylor (Matthew) Brown, Grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Whitney (Dylan) Schnider, Kevin Jr (Torri) Schnider, former wife Lee Despain, Great grandchild Karson Lucero. Sister-in-law Mary Lou Stoltzfus, niece Jill (Tony) Spadafora and nephews Matt (Becky) Stoltzfus and Jason Stoltzfus.
Jim is preceded in death by his brother Galen Stoltzfus, Father Floyd Stoltzfus, Mother Pat Powers, Stepmother Lynn Stoltzfus, and former wife Mikki O’Brien.
Jim was born in Cory, PA but spent much of his life is Craig, CO.
Jim was a quiet and stoic person. He took a great deal of pride in all that he did. He was very generous and helped people when they needed but did so quietly. He loved weightlifting and riding his bicycle. He loved his children most of all. He was somewhat of a prankster and loved to joke around with his son Tory. His favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch in the sun and watching the neighborhood.
He was a strong person who never asked for much but always gave what he could.
A celebration of life will be held for Jim and Tory on Saturday August 28th, 2021 at the Breeze St Park at 1pm.
