James Louis Voytilla, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022.
He was born in Pueblo, CO on April 13, 1938 to Joseph and Frances Voytilla (Gimple).
Jim and his older brother, Joseph, spent their childhood in Cisco, UT with their parents. Jim graduated from high school in Palisade, CO, and served in the Army.
He married Barbara Freidburg in 1962; they later divorced after having Scott and Steve. In 1973 he married the love of his life (of 45 years) Marilyn Jean Sage and had one Son James.
Jim spent 35 years with the Colorado Department of Highways proudly building bridges and highways all over Western Colorado.
He is a member of Faith Heights Church. He enjoyed time with family, friends, and his church family (both here and in Arizona). He loved being an usher at both churches.
Jim was preceded in death by both his mother Frances, father Joseph, wife Marilyn, and Brother Joe.
Jim spent a lifetime collecting and restoring classic cars. He enjoyed going to car shows, both in Colorado and Arizona. He and Marilyn spent 20 plus years wintering in their second home in Arizona. They had many friends that they enjoyed spending time with over the years.
Jim is survived by his three sons: Scott, Steve (Marnie) and James (Kelli) and six grand children, Tayvia, Dylan, Mason, Sophie (Tony), Jimmy, Clayton, and two great-grand children Quinn, and a baby girl due this June to Sophie and Tony Darling. He was very proud of his family and loved each and every one of them.
Memorial services to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on March 19th. 2022 at Faith Heights Church at 600 28 ¼ Road in Grand Junction, CO. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 A.M, and then the service will begin in the chapel at 10 A.M. Graveside services will follow immediately afterwards at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2970 North Avenue
