Jammie Marie (Mann) McCloud gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the age of 46. She passed away surrounded by family after a valiant battle with cancer.
Jammie was born on September 23, 1974 to Sylvia Grimsley and Jim Mann. She grew up in Grand Junction, CO with her loving older sister, Michelle Cole and their wonderful blended families as both parents eventually remarried. Jammie was very fortunate to have a wonderful childhood that would leave her with a lifetime of amazing memories. She graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1993. She continued her education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, graduating in 1997 with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications. After graduation, Jammie worked at the Mesa Mall in the Marketing Department from 1999 -2012 until she was promoted to her best job ever, full-time mom (aka Momma Bear).
In 1999, Jammie met her soul mate, Brad McCloud, in Grand Junction. They planned a wedding on December 31, 1999 and started their lives together as the new millennium began. Jammie’s biggest joy in life was when she became a mother to Keith Bradley (2004) and Kennan Louis (2008) who in turn love and cherish their mother. Jammie dedicated her life to being the best mom to her two sons, her “son”shines. Jammie excelled at creating the best birthday parties, events, and holiday traditions. She made it her mission to do whatever would help her boys while showering them with love, support, and guidance.
When Jammie wasn’t cheering her boys on at a sporting or school event, she could be found reading, hiking, camping and spending as much time as possible with her best friends; mother Sylvia and sister Michelle. Jammie was a designated champion of skipping rocks, it was a much loved past time to stroll along the river or whatever body of water present and hunt for the most perfect rock to skip with. She would volunteer to help lead different functions, organize events, and plan gatherings. By just being herself and doing what she loved Jammie improved and helped the lives of others every single day. Jammie was the epitome of kindness and a giving heart. Everyone that knew Jammie will miss her greatly.
Jammie was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Joan McCloud; her step-father, Chuck Grimsley, her maternal grandparents, Eva and Louie Ciani and her paternal grandparents Edna and James W Mann.
Jammie is survived by her husband, Brad McCloud; her sons, Keith and Kennan McCloud; her mother, Sylvia Grimsley of Grand Junction, her father and step-mother, Jim and Deenise Mann of Clifton; father-in-law Kenneth McCloud of Fort Morgan, her siblings Michelle (Brian) Cole of Grand Junction, John (Amanda) Grimsley of Grand Junction, Brad (Chantel) Grimsley of Grand Junction, Kalli River-Mann of Grand Junction, Garrett (Chelsea) River of Palisade, CO, Kristopher (Josie) River-Smith of Victoriaville California, and Amy (Barney) Padgett of Fort Morgan, CO; her nephews and nieces, Cass, Kyden, Marshall, Casey, Gwen, Allison, Calla, James, Hayden, McKenna, Nora, Hallie, Maddie and Brogan; three aunts that she had a very special connection with Charlene “Tiny” Ciani-Domini, Georgia Gutierrez, Georgia Michael and many other special cousins, extended family members and friends who were family in her heart.
Just as the tie-dye that she often wore she brought color and light and happiness to everything she touched.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Jammie on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church (3940 27 ½ Road) in Grand Junction.
