Janette Pacheco

Janette (Brown) Pacheco was born on August 3, 1950 in Eugene, Oregon, to parents William and Mildred Brown.  After moving to Colorado in the mid-1950ies, Janette spent most of her childhood in Mesa and Grand Counties, where she graduated from Middle Park High School (Granby, CO) in 1969.

She worked at various restaurants, including the Sitzmark and Winterville Lodge in Winter Park, before moving to Lakewood, Colorado, where she worked for the Colorado Department of Revenue before retiring in 2015 and returning to Grand Junction.

Janette was known for her sense of humor, vast knowledge, and love of ballroom dancing – something she did in her younger years and even competed in local ballroom dancing competitions!  She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, playing games, crocheting and needlepoint, camping, fishing, long drives, as well as dashboard picnics and enjoying life.

Janette passed away on June 6, 2021 at the age of 70 from natural causes.

She is preceded in death by her two daughters, Jeanine (Patterson) and Michelle (Hoffman); both parents; and three sisters, Linda Schmidt, Sharon Pacheco, and Debbie Sue Brown.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Dustin Pacheco of Grand Junction, Rebecca (Daniel) Long of Grand Junction, and Alex Patterson of Enid, Oklahoma; one great-grandchild, Kayden Long; three sisters, Brenda Brown, Judy Smith, and Kathy Kerns, all of Grand Junction.

A public Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 3, at 11:00 AM at the New Haven Church located at 426 Kluge Ave., Palisade, CO  81526.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, at 1:00 pm at the Fraser Cemetery in Fraser, Colorado, followed by a reception at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center located at 1 Main Street in Fraser.
