Jason Alan Staley, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, departed this world on the 15th of October, 2021, surrounded by family in Aurora, Colorado. Jason was 46 years old, born on June 22nd, 1975 in Rangely, Colorado. He was raised in Rangely and Greeley, Colorado and graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1994. He married his high school sweetheart, Andi, on June 5th, 1999 in Greeley, and two children were born to this eternal union, Lane (16) and Kendall (14).
After high school, he worked a short time with his dad at Colorado Well in Rangely and then attended business college where he earned two associate’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration in 1997. He also attended Metro State College in Denver where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2005. He worked for the Tetra Tech, Inc. group of associates for 26 years, most recently as a Project Controls Specialist for Tetra Tech ECA. He was a loyal employee and had a solid work ethic, often working evenings and weekends to meet his deadlines.
Jason loved living in Fruita and was active in his children’s activities, including volunteering as a Little League coach, serving on the Fruita Little League board, driving the carpool to gymnastics practice, attending in-state and out-of-state gymnastics meets, and volunteering for Fruita Boy Scout Troop 323. He loved being outdoors, hunting big game with his father and son or riding ATVs and shed hunting around the Western Slope. He also enjoyed traveling, snowboarding, camping, boating, and teaching his daughter to cook. He was an avid fan of the Colorado Avalanche and NASCAR. Jason touched so many people with his patient demeanor, friendly smile, and warm blue eyes. But those closest to him will miss his sophomoric, often mischievous sense of humor the most.
Jason is survived by his wife Adrianne M. “Andi” Staley, son Lane R. Staley, and daughter Kendall J. Staley of Fruita, father Robert E. “Bobby” Staley Jr. and his wife Teresa F. Staley of Rangely, mother Denise J. Maddox of Brighton, sister Shirley M. “Mandy” Staley of Brighton, brother Christopher W. Staley (Miranda) of Littleton, special in-laws John E. “Jack” Liddle Sr. and Bonnie J. Liddle of Loveland, three uncles, one aunt, two nieces, one nephew, and several extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert E. Staley Sr. and LaVaughn Staley of Rangely and Donald D. Strain and Shirley M. Strain of Rangely.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of Jason’s family and friends for their outpouring of love and support. Their generosity is a wonderful tribute to the person Jason was and the impact he had on so many.
