Jeannine Kendall

October 10, 1928 — February 13, 2025

Jeannine, age 96, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Larchwood Inns Rehab & Nursing Facility.

Jeannine was the only child born to Emmett E. and Fanny Sisler on October 10, 1928, in Tulsa Oklahoma.

Jeannine moved to Colorado at 8 years of age with her parents in 1936, settling in the Fruitvale area on a peach orchard farm. Jeannine attended local schools and graduated from Fruitvale High School in 1946 and attended Mesa Junior College (now Colorado Mesa University) where she met her future husband Max C. Kendall, they were married March 20, 1949, and spent 68 wonderful years together.

After marrying, she moved with Max to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Upon returning to Grand Junction Max worked and was the owner of the family business Kendall Electric Company, and Jeannine was a homemaker and Mother to their 3 sons.

Jeannine was a member of Unity Church, serving on the board and directing their fall festivals.

After her family, Jeannine loved gardening. She was a 25-year member of the Desert Vista Garden Club and the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Beta Tau Chapter Sorority. She loved the study of Antiques and Collectables and was a longtime member of the Antiquarian Club. Her hobbies were oil painting and playing Bridge.

Jeannine and Max loved to travel in their motorhome throughout the United States and with their boat, camping with their family and friends on Grand Mesa, Blue Mesa, with Lake Powell being their favorite. Together with Max she traveled extensively abroad to many islands and countries.

Proceeding her in death were her parents Emmett E. and Fanny Sisler and her husband Max C. Kendall.

Survivors include sons John "Cliff" Kendall (Selma), Donald Kendall (Julie), and Mark Kendall; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

We extend our gratitude for the care provided to her by the staff at Larchwood Inns and Hope West Hospice care.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Jeannine will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Redlands Community Center, 2463 Broadway, Grand Junction, CO.

Her burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.

In leu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Hope West Hospice.
