Jennifer Kay Mitchell

Jennifer Kay Mitchell Slafter was born on November 1, 1974, and passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023. She was 48 years old. Jennifer was a lifelong resident of Ouray County who was known for her compassion for people and animals. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends in many outdoor activities including fishing, camping, and horseback riding.

Surviving family members include her parents, Ronald and Debbie Slafter of Ridgway, CO., siblings and their spouses (Allan Slafter and Julie Tushinsky of Montrose, CO., Connie and Joe Childers of Olathe, CO., Ryan Doerr of Silver Lake, KS., Annie Slafter Springer and Gary Springer of Ridgway, CO., and Michelle and Kevin Sainio of Durango, CO.), six nephews (Kaleb, Kevin, Jared, Conner, Cody, and Aiden), two nieces (Hailey and Aubrey), and her five furry kids (Bella, Tess, Chico, Little Heart and PJ).
