Jerry was a kind and good man with many interests during his life. Aviation was his first love. He learned to fly after being discharged from the Navy in 1945. He was fortunate to be able to combine his love of flying with his work throughout his life. When he could no longer get his license to fly because of his health his interests turned to Radio Controlled planes. He was building and flying those for many years.
His work interests varied and included partial interests in a Crab Fishing Boat, Gold mining, Ranch and Gravel Pit, Welding Supply Co. and his own Pipeline Construction Company.
In 1949 Jerry and Dorothy Laramore were married in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They celebrated 71 years together in May of 2020. In 1950 they moved to Alaska, driving the Alaskan Highway over 1500 miles of frozen gravel in the dead of winter. It took them 10 days, many of those days were 70-80 below temperatures. They made Alaska their home for 45 years.
Jerry was a good father, and a gentle man who loved to water and snow ski, but most of all...loved to fly!
No services are planned at this time. A celebration of Jerry's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope West Hospice of Grand Junction, Colorado.
