Steele Graham passed away at his home with his wife at his side on April 9th, 2024. He was 49 years old. Steele was born in Grand Junction, Colorado to Arthur and Wanda (Burnett) Graham. He is a 1992 graduate of Central High School.
Steele was an avid outdoorsman and spent as much time as he could hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a tireless volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, working to preserve hunting and fishing lands for outdoor recreation and conservation. Steele also spent many years as a baseball coach at Orchard Mesa Little League where he shaped the lives of every player he coached. Many of his players remained in contact with "Coach Steele" well into adulthood and credit him for the men they became.
In 2020, Steele met the love of his life. They eloped on March 21, 2022, and planned a formal wedding for June 1st of this year to commemorate the fishing score on their first date. (She out-fished him 6 to 1) They packed a lifetime into their four years together.
Steele was preceded in death by his father, Art Graham, and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife, Clarissa; mother, Wanda Graham: brother Casey (Bobbi) Graham of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Rick (Gidget) Davis of Grand Junction; daughter, Amber Graham of Pennsylvania; daughter, Harmony (Rhys) Carmack of Misawa Air Base, Japan; step-son, Jacob Vazquez of Lone Tree, Colorado; adopted son, Devante Luciano of Grand Junction; grandson, Paxton Graham; grandson Archer Carmack; as well as three nephews and two nieces.
A celebration of life will take place on June 1st in place of the formal wedding originally planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steele's name to Orchard Mesa Little League.
