Jimmy Sanchez

Jimmy Lee Sanchez, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 16 2020. Jimmy passed away in his home from complications from a long history of heart disease.  He was surrounded by his family and caring nursing staff of Hope West Hospice Care.

Jimmy was born September 24, 1959 in Durango Colorado, son of the late Lucia, “Lucy” Sanchez-Archuleta. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family, walking or riding his scooter around lakes, looking for wildlife, especially eagles, and playing dominoes. His sense of humor and loving nature touched many hearts.  Jimmy had worked in construction and as a furniture mover.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucia Sanchez-Archuleta and brothers, Augustine Fernandez, Albert Sanchez and Randy Sanchez.  He is survived by his children, Lucinda, Neva and Jimmy Sanchez; grandchildren, Rosendo Sanchez-Esparza, Cynthia Nieto, Sacara and Neva Sanchez, Ivan Diaz, and Loren and Sophia Romero; brothers, Ben (Anna) Fernandez, Sandy Sanchez;  sister, Gloria (John) Chavez; cousin Bennie Sanchez who was like a brother and numerous nephews and nieces.

Due to the current pandemic, a Memorial Mass and burial will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Jimmy's name.
