Joe David Replogle

Joe D. Replogle, age 83, of Fruita, CO, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29th, 2024. Born on October 26th, 1940, in Dyersburg, TN, Joe was the beloved only child of David and Vera Replogle.

Joe’s formative years were spent in Center, CO, from the 4th grade onward, where he forged lifelong friendships. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, including a memorable period stationed in Japan. After his military service, Joe pursued higher education at Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo, CO, where he met his devoted wife of 53 years, Sara Replogle.

Joe’s professional journey was diverse and fulfilling, encompassing roles as a Teacher/Professor, a barge worker, mechanic, salesperson, service manager, and ultimately retiring as a correctional officer. Joe’s passions were many and varied. he was a proud member of CMA and Stillwater Cowboy Church. He found joy in leading Bible studies, collecting pocketknives and other collectibles, and engaging in heartfelt conversations with everyone he met—he truly never knew a stranger. Joe was also dedicated to volunteering, gifting, and cherishing time with his family. 

Preceded in death by his parents, David M. Replogle and Vera B. Replogle, and his wife, Sara Replogle. Joe leaves behind a loving family. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Replogle (Steve) and Carrie Green (Mark); his grandchildren, Cody Meek (Emily) and Kylee Green; and his great-grandsons, Lane Nelson and Colter Meek. Joe’s legacy of kindness, service, and love will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Joe will receive Military Honors at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10am. 

Following his Military Honors ceremony, a Celebration of Life will be held at Stillwater Cowboy Church in Fruita, Colorado at 1pm.
