Joe Merced Suarez III, age 56 died November 28th, 2023, following a thirteen-year battle of muscular Dystrophy.
Born April 24th, 1967, in Quantico, Virginia, he was the son of Joe Merced Suarez Jr. of Grand Junction, Co and the late Olivia Sosa Ramirez.
JoJo successfully completed his academic journey, graduating from Gallup High School and the University of New Mexico with an associate degree in Arts in Human Services.
At the age of 17 JoJo married Sophi (Dolores) Alonzo on March 30th, 1985, in Gallup, New Mexico. They were married for 38 years.
He was a dedicated intake worker at Mesa County for thirteen years. Prior to joining the county, he spent a couple of years at the Housing Authority and worked in the challenging environment of the oil fields.
When JoJo was living in Gallup New Mexico, he attended Gallup Church of God. There he ministered at revivals in the surrounding areas with the band” Apostles”. After moving to Grand Junction Colorado, he served in the “Set Free Ministries” with his dad, Joe Merced Suarez Jr. He also served in Junction Community Church on the media team, online church, Board of directors, he helped launch Sara’s Pantry, led youth Sunday school and was on the worship team. JoJo loved serving his community and his church.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle through the mountains, fishing, camping, watching a good movie and playing his guitar. He cherished many memories with his Family or with a good buddy.
JoJo was a great mentor and loved life. He was outgoing and could make a friend anywhere he went. He was dedicated to his wife and family. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend out a helping hand.

Joe Merced Suarez III is survived by, wife Sophi(Dolores) Suarez, son Joe Suarez IV, daughters Janice Blair(Dewey), Candice Rocha and Sophia Suarez, sisters Elizabeth Suarez and Jessica Suarez, father Joe Merced Suarez Jr, grandchildren Christopher Suarez, Anise Baty(Jon), Isaiah Blair, Elisha Blair, Matthew Blair, Amoriya Brown and Jodeci Brown and great grandchild Jake Baty.
Joe Merced Suarez the III was a loving Husband, strong Father, and caring Grandfather. He will be missed dearly.
