John Franker Gebman, age 85, died September 11, 2022, following a consuming illness of Neurosarcoidosis.
John was born August 20, 1934, in Albuquerque, NM,
He graduated from Pagosa Springs, CO.
John was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany.
In the early 1960’s, John fell in love with flying. He became Chief Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Managing Partner of Seven Bar Flying Service. As a flight instructor, John taught and mentored many Pilots. He began flying for E. W. “Rich” Richardson, owner of Rich Ford, as Captain and Operations Director. First flying a Merlin III, then a Learjet 25D. John and Rich flew together for over 30 years. His love for Rich and flying was his “Dream Career.”
John loved restoring old cars and motorcycles. His last project was a beautiful 1935 5 Window Ford Coupe w/ Cobra Engine. He just completed it before he passed.
At retirement, he moved from Albuquerque to Chama, NM, built a beautiful log home on the Brazos River. 2020, he moved to Fruita, CO, for health reasons.
John F. Gebman is survived by Judith A. Gebman, his loving wife, numerous family and friends.
A Military Honor Service will be held at the Military Cemetery
in Grand Junction, CO on October 7, 2022 @ 10:00 am.
