John Franklin Rule Jr. 7/23/45-7/24/2019
John was born in San Diego California to Charlotte Harrison Rule and CDR John Franklin Rule (US Navy). He spent much of his childhood abroad in places like Hawaii and Japan. After high school he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the US Navy. After his service in the Navy he traveled the world and then settled in Colorado. John was a very talented cartoonist with a long history of working for the Aspen Times, The Daily Sentinel and Hal Lindsey. He also was an accomplished chef working as the head chef of many restaurants along the western slope. He spent his later years of life training his border collies and was always on the hunt for the biggest rainbow trout.
After a long battle with cancer he passed away peacefully in his home.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his 3 children Alicen Halquist, Audrey Goodman and Fredrick Rule (and their spouses), his 4 grandchildren and his 2 sisters Robin Rule and Cathy Varney.
