Joseph Michael Tonozzi September 22, 1949 - April 8, 2022
Joe was born September 22, 1949, to Emil "Tony" and Wilda Tonozzi in Lamar, Colorado and grew up in Holly. After graduating from Holly High School in 1967 his family moved to Carlsbad, California. He attended Mira Costa College and worked for relatives in and around that area. After living there for several years, he made his way back to the Western Slope of Colorado. He married in 1974 and had his dear son, Sasha in 1977.
In 1984, Joe reunited with Rebecca "Becki" Fair with whom he had a "steady" connection from the 5th grade until 2 years out of high school. They married and had a beautiful life together for 38 years.
For three decades Joe and his brothers, through a number of partnerships and corporations provided janitorial and other support services to primarily phone companies throughout Western Colorado.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Roger and his nephew, Trevor. He is survived by Becki and Sasha, his brother Tony (Dolores) of Loma, CO, sister-in-law Sharon Tonozzi of Fruita, sister-in-law, Joy Lepel of Springfield, CO, and brother-in-law, Gary Fair of Syracuse, KS, as well as many nephews and nieces including great and great-great, plus other relatives and many friends.
The family thanks HopeWest Hospice Care staff for the loving care and support given in the last weeks of Joe's life. A Celebration of Life will be held on: Saturday, April 23, 2:30 pm, at Absolute Prestige Ranch, 1351 Q Road, Loma, CO.
