Joyce Lorraine Rossi of Mack CO entered into eternal life March 28, 2020 in Fruita CO. Lorraine was born August 20, 1922 in Big Flat AR to Oscar and Daisy Rose, the oldest of eleven children. After the family moved to Colorado she attended school at Copper Spur and Yampa. She married Robert Rossi, the love of her life, on December 1, 1950. She was blessed with four children, Bill, Suzanne, Alan, and George. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She spent her life working side by side with Robert on the family ranch in Yampa raising her family, cattle, and hay. In 1981 they moved to Mack CO. to continue to raise cattle. While in Mack she enjoyed growing wonderful gardens and canning what it produced. She always had a full pantry and table for the many guests and family that was always stopping by. Her joys were her grandchildren, gardening, sewing, and winning at poker at family gatherings. She lived at what was known as the Taco Bell House by the neighborhood. There was always a houseful of grandkids with their friends. She always had a full cookie jar and Robert’s favorite pie. She hosted many large family gatherings with everybody staying at her house. Her only request was bring your own T.P.
Lorraine was recognized as a Master Gardener by CSU. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Sorosis Club she hosted many Christmas Dinners in her home. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents Oscar and Daisy; brother and sisters J.D., Donna, and Shirley; son Bill Laman; and grandson Blane Stewart. Lorraine is survived by brothers and sisters Clarice, Bernadean, Max, Lila, Nancy, George, and Glenda. Children Suzanne (Stephen) Stewart, Alan (Verla) Rossi, George (Sue) Rossi. Daughter-in-law Katherine DeWald. Grandchildren Larry Laman, Shelly (Jim) Pederson, Monte (Sara) Williams. Loren (Valerie) Williams, Jennifer (Justin) Gilbreath, Tony (Koli) Rossi, Taylor (Kyle) Kerkman Kaylen Rossi, Treven Rossi. Great grandchildren Lacey Hutton, Meshawn Laman, Desiree Laman, Alexia Bickels, Alexander and Lyla Williams, Jaxon,Jaylee, and Jordyn Gilbreath, Hazen and Breckin Rossi, Knox and Jude Kerkman, Waylon and Evalyn Williams. Great-great grandchildren Blaze, Brody, and Brecken Hutton.
