Joyce Wolfe

September 2, 1934 — December 23, 2016

Joyce R. Wolfe      9/2/1934 – 12/23/2016

On December 23, Joyce lost her battle with COPD recovering from a fall.

She was 82. Joyce was born in Montrose, CO in 1934 to Barbara A. Sanderson and Lester S. Seybold. She spent most of her life in and around Grand Junction. She met her husband, Arden “Bud” D. Wolfe while working for Colorado Milk Producers as a bookkeeper. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, parents, Barbara Brown and Lester Seybold, sister, Shirley Troufle, brother, Stanley Seybold and son, Jack Hicks.

Joyce loved being with family and her children whether it was hunting, fishing, camping or family reunions. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could tease with the best of them, but also could take a joke. She loved cooking, the more the merrier, and taught many of us how to cook. We will surely miss her at the family gatherings as well as her private counsel and fair, sometimes stern, advice.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra (Robin) Cherp of Grand Junction, son, Terry (Heather) Hicks of Arlington, WA, daughter, Cindy (Tom) Sabins of Winston, OR daughter, Tonya Estep of Burns, OR, daughter-in-law, Glenna Hicks of Grand Junction, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

We would like to give a special thanks to Larchwood, Mesa Manor, Hopewest Hospice and Brown’s Funeral Home for helping Joyce and the family through a difficult time with their amazing care. We would ask that all donations be made to Hopewest or to the YOUCARING.COM account of her grandson, Lucas Hicks as he fights his own battles with life threatening cancer.
