Judy Cotts

Judy Marie Cotts, age 68, passed away August 3rd, 2017 in her home following a long-fought battle with lung cancer.

Born November 13th, 1948 in Grand Junction, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late William and Eilene Strain.  Judy graduated from Central High School in 1967 and married Leroy Cotts on June 25th, 1969. Judy had been employed as a sales floor associate at Wal-Mart for the last 13 years.  Before that, she ran a daycare in her home in Fruita for 17 years and continues to be remembered and loved by many families from that time.

For 12 years, Judy loved driving her ’46 Ford Coupe and participating in many different car shows throughout the state of Colorado with her husband, Leroy.  They also enjoyed camping and spending as much time as possible with their grandkids.

Judy will be missed for her friendly, feisty personality and her strong value for hard work.  She was fiercely loyal to those she loved and was extremely dedicated to her family.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Cotts, and her father and mother, William and Eilene Strain.  Judy is survived by her brother Orville Ray Strain, son Billy (Nicole) Cotts, Pagosa Springs, CO and grandsons Taylor, Braylon, and Treyson Cotts.

Memorial Services will be Friday, August 18th, 2017, 3:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Judy requested that contributions be made to the Hope West Care Center in Grand Junction,
