June Lucille ‘Lucy’ (Curry) Norman passed peacefully on September 2, 2022 in Grand Junction,Colorado.
She was born in Wampum Pennsylvania on July 10th, 1927 daughter of James and Cora Curry. They moved to Toledo when she was young. She had three brothers; C.D. ‘Doug’ (Dorothy) Curry, the late Preston Curry (Marie), and the late James Curry Jr (Gerrie). She was married to the late James W. Norman also of Toledo and is survived by her son Matthew Norman (Judy Sparn Norman) of Grand Junction, Colorado. She has two Grandsons; retired Special Forces SFC Douglas Norman of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and Reverend David Norman of Mankato, Minnesota. She was blessed with four Great-grandchildren; Nicole Brianne Norman, Wesley Norman, Jessie ‘J-Bob’ Norman, and Abigail. She has several nieces and nephews in the Toledo area including Linda, Mitzi, Shawn, Shelly, Kevin and Kelly Curry and their children.
She grew up in the Reynolds Corner area of Toledo, attended Glann Elementary and Harriet Whitney Vocational School. She also attended Epiphany Lutheran Church and was married there. Following high school she opened the Tiny Beauty Shop on Dorr Street in Reynolds Corners. She worked for General Mills for a number of years before moving to southeast Michigan.
She became successful and well known in the in the real estate business in Oakland County Michigan as a sales agent and worked well into her seventies. In retirement she enjoyed gardening, travel, antiques, and staying active at Orchard Lake Community Church.
In 2018 she moved to Grand Junction to be close to her immediate family ( Matt & Judy Sparn Norman). Services will be graveside at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford Michigan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to local Hospice Care.
