Karlee Durand

Karlee Jonele Durand, 23, passed away at home on May 2nd, 2021. Born August 6, 1997, she was the daughter of Vickie Durand of Canon City, CO and Nick Durand of Grand Junction, CO. Karlee attended school in Rio Rancho, NM and was a graduate of the Albuquerque Job Corps program. Karlee enjoyed the beautiful scenery of New Mexico and Colorado. She was an incredible make-up artist who loved horses, off-roading, bonfires, listening to music, watching movies, and baking cookies. She loved spending time at the pool and taking midnight drives with her best friend, Maricka. She adored her cats Penny, Kiara, and Jasmine. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, ocean-blue eyes, strong will, boisterous laugh, bubbly sense of humor, and unconditional love and kindness for her friends and family. Those that truly knew her loved her both for her outside beauty and her beauty within.

She is survived by her parents, Vickie Durand and Nick Durand, brothers Chris Durand (Katie Devine) and Jacob Durand (Gabrielle Bentham), sister Beth Scheck (Mike Scheck), nephews Logan, Theodore, Frederic, and Benjamin, niece Gracelynn, and best friend Maricka Vigil. She is preceded in death by her brother Matthew Durand. She leaves behind a large and loving extended family including numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her honor to a charity of your choice, or perform an act of kindness for a friend in her memory.
